Since trading as Callaghans Marine Services, our team has grown from a crew of three in 2006 to ten by 2015. Our growth has come from an increased demand for our services in other areas, which has encouraged us to further develop our mobile service. Thanks to our expertise in dealing with large vessel refits, there is always one such project, sometimes even more, underway. We are also fortunate to be able to work with other excellent service providers in shipwrighting, electrical work, painting, covers, and much more. Along with a very capable range of lifting equipment, this makes our Fenwicks Marina premises an ideal yard for all of our clients’ marine engineering and repair work.

Our business is also an established outboard service and Honda Marine dealership, and we are proud to be one of the largest outboard service providers in the region. Our large repeat clientele includes river commuters and commercial operators along with leisure and fishing boat owners.

Our highly qualified tradesmen have diverse backgrounds and experience in machining, general engineering, large and small diesel engineering such as plant, heavy vehicle, and, of course, marine engineering disciplines. Inboard petrol and outboard motor engineering also features prominently amongst our combined skills set.

Some of us came to marine engineering from other related trades, such as plant, heavy vehicle and light vehicle mechanics, whilst others started out and remain as qualified marine mechanics.

Each member of our highly motivated and enthusiastic team is here because they enjoy all things boat related as well as the variety of engineering challenges our business specialises in.

 All of us are on the water in competition or leisure, including fishing (both game and inshore), sailing, skiing, surfing, and even rowing and sculling, just to name a few of our interests.

We are committed to ongoing training and development, from out continuous involvement in engine technician training and industry courses, though to a program of apprentice employment and training, where we currently employ four apprentices.

We are members of several marine industry bodies that include the Marine Industry Mechanical Repairers Association (MIMRA), of which Steve is a committee member, and the Boating Industry Association (BIA) of NSW.
